Senior Recruitment Consultant - Defence
SENIOR CONSULTANT - DEFENCE - WHITELEY - £30,000 - £40,000
Some recruitment businesses still think “culture” means a pool table, a gong and a manager pacing behind you asking what’s closing this week.
This isn’t that.
This is a grown-up recruitment business, built around trust, good people, proper standards and the idea that you probably do your best work when you’re treated like an adult.
You’ll still be expected to bill.
Of course you will. This is recruitment.
But you’ll be given the platform, tools, autonomy and support to do it properly. No chaos dressed up as “pace”. No daily drama. No smoke and mirrors around commission. Just a serious recruitment environment with strong markets, good leadership, modern offices and a team that genuinely wants to keep getting better.
The role is for an experienced recruiter to join the team in Whiteley.
You’ll be working across specialist markets, with a particular focus on technical, engineering, defence or similarly complex sectors. You don’t need to have recruited in defence before, but you do need to understand how to build credibility with clients and candidates who know their world inside out.
You’ll manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from winning work and qualifying roles through to sourcing, interviewing, shortlisting, offer management and placement. You’ll build long-term client relationships, develop new business opportunities, map talent, share market insight and become known as someone who actually understands their market.
Not just someone who sends CVs.
You’ll need to be proactive, commercially sharp and comfortable working in a target-driven environment. But you won’t be left to figure everything out alone. There’s a strong team around you, good systems, a clear direction and a business that invests in people who want to make an impact.
And the commission is refreshingly simple.
20%. No threshold.
So when you bill, you earn. No waiting to clear a mountain first. No complicated spreadsheet that mysteriously makes your commission disappear. Just a clear, flat structure that rewards performance.
You’ll also get:
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Up to 5% pension match
• Wellbeing allowance or health cash benefits
• Flexible working on a 4/1 pattern
• 3pm Friday finish, with incentives to finish even earlier
• Modern offices in Whiteley
• Team trips, events and activities
A culture built around respect, trust, purpose and doing things better
This is a good move for someone who wants recruitment to feel a bit more professional again.
Still ambitious. Still commercial. Still high-performing.
Just with fewer egos, better conversations and a company that understands people tend to do great work when they’re given the space and support to do it.
So if you’re an experienced recruiter looking for a grown-up business, a strong culture and a commission structure that actually makes sense, let’s talk.
Send your CV. Drop me a message. Pick up the phone.
Whatever works for you.
The best moves usually start with a good conversation.
